Another "must have" Miele accessory!
This brush did not come with my machine, but I bought it at the same time. The power brush that came with my Miele was very difficult to roll across thick carpet. I realize that "vacuum" requires real suction, but the SEB236 is much easier to push and pull across carpet.
Unlike the brush that came with my machine, the SEB236 can be locked into a full standing position so the brush doesn't have to be laid down or held up by the machine when you want to pause or stop vacuuming.
On the downside, the brush is extremely heavy. Carrying it up and down stairs isn't fun. Still, it does an amazing job, is easier to roll, has bright headlights and can be locked in the upright position when not in use.
In my opinion, this brush and the parquet floor brush are essential accessories for a Miele canister vac.
Great accessory, a must-have for carpeted homes!
This is my second SEB-236 after my first met a bad fate after a mishap with a flight of stairs. :-)
Miele has improved this unit over the last version, replacing the old model's fluorescent headlight with LEDs that work as well.
The unit does a great job on carpets of all depths, and I can't imagine trying to vacuum without it. The depth setting work really well, and it's nice that setting the wand to full upright shuts the Powerbrush off.
One thing to note - they changed indicator LEDs on the top of the unit, so the manual states the operation LED will either be red, to indicate a jam, or green to indicate normal operation.
Instead, the LED is either red (to indicate a jam) or AMBER if operation is normal.
Overall, a great purchase, and this time more caution will be used near stairs. ;-)
not good for people that have long hair pets!
It came with my miele vac., the vac is great except the SEB236 did not last 2 yrs. Took it apart and got the pet hair off the belt, it is a night mare to take it apart and put together which you have to do to even get to the belt. Then the last time it quit all together, at 259.00 it should have lasted the lifetime of the rest of the vac.
