Cheaper at Eureka's own site
I love my 71a vac, but this replacement filter is available for less directly from the manufacturer's site (even when their high S&H fees are taken into account).

You can't really pick & choose the filter you can use with the Eureka 71B - it is what it is! I bought the 71B used & the moment I changed the filter, it was like a brand new vacuum, it made all the difference in the world.
If you're looking at the filter reviews before you buy the vacuum (kinda smart) I'd say that the filter really traps dirt & hair in it and you can't really clean it on your own to prolong it's useful life. You can shake it out, but there isn't a lot you can do with it except replace it eventually. And I expect to replace it often in order to maintain suction.
That being said, I am an Amazon Prime member so it's cheaper for me to buy it here than through Eureka. It would be great to buy 4-packs to have them on-hand.

Great item, but Eureka site has it for cheaper, and they also do coupon codes (sometimes up to 33% off, check retailmenot).
